After judging that Rain’s Rainism was harmful and detrimental to youths last week, the Commission of Youth Protection has acted again by labelling DBSK’s Mirotic, Solbi’s Do It Do It, Trust Me and Make Up Sex from Dynamic Duo’s 4th album, etc in the same category as Rainism. This has created an uproar once again in Korea with the ruling taking effect from this week onwards.
According to sources, the Commission of Youth Protection usually examines around 100 songs every month to see if they are harmful or detrimental to youths in Korea. But this is the first time that their scope is targeted specifically towards popular mainstream singers in Korea right now. In the last month alone, 110 songs were judged to be inappropriate with 32 of them Korean songs, setting a new record in the process. The reason for banning Mirotic was the same as Rainism in that part of the lyrics were inappropriate.
The ruling will come into effect from 4th December with the song being banned from playing on tv or radio before 10pm. The Mirotic album will have stickers affixed to them that indicates “unsuitable for people under 19 years old”. The song lyrics will have to be modified if they are going to perform this during concerts or events. Action will be taken if any of the above are flouted.
Although affected singers and their companies have expressed that they will adhere to the ruling, they can’t fathom the reasoning behind the ban.
Industry critics feel that this will only heap more misery on the already suffering music industry. And one wonders if the “19-only” stickers restricting the sale of affected albums will actually have any effect. DBSK for example are already done with promoting Mirotic and are actually in the midst of promoting their follow-up song Wrong Number. With album sales already exceeding 300,000, it also means that most of their fans have already gotten the album already.
A Disney-friendly Korean music industry in future? Hope not.

SM Entertainment finally decided to release the edited version of TVXQ’s 4th album entitled MIROTIC as a response to warning issued by Korea’s Commission of Youth Protection.
Staff from SM Entertainment, on December 2nd, said “Commission of Youth Protection" has determined MIROTIC as one of the songs that are banned, therefore we will release and edited version. However, this decision will not necessarily satisfy Commission of Youth Protection because they have their own measure apart, but this step must be made to prevent further effects."
‘Jumun’, ‘nol kajjeosso’, then ‘i got you under my skin’ and some words in the song are stated as ‘lyrics that can be harmful to teenagers’ by Commission of Youth Protection. The new version (edited version) of MIROTIC can be seen as soon as possible in TVXQ’s next activities.

At the start, you were sweetly, naturally attracted to me
You stepped up to me and told me it would forever be like that
All the possibilities, opened up Oh~
What is love? What! It's now meant by the Red Ocean
I'm breakin' my rules again, you know it's getting boring
Even if you're hurt a bit, it's okay Oh~
You want me, You've fallen for me, You're crazy over me
You can't escape I got you- Under my skin
You want me, You've fallen for me, You're crazy over me
You're my slave, I got you under my skin
The piercing stare that burrows into your head
It's not me, my still chrome heart
It's the road you chose Oh~
Running through your veins, flowing through you are millions of my crystal
Finally it has started, the end of my metamorphosis
Isn't this also love? Oh~
You want me, You've fallen for me, You're crazy over me
You can't escape I got you- Under my skin
You want me, You've fallen for me, You're crazy over me
You're my slave, I got you under my skin
Together with one time's kiss~ The day is fresh- a strong pull
The second kiss, your heart felt hot and about to explode
Yeah~ I got you! You know you got it!
Yeah~ Come on! Come on! I got you- Under my skin
In your dreams I control you with my magic spells
You're once again yearning .. I got you- Under my skin
My devils ride, there's no more room for breathing, if that happens
How will it be to enjoy it now I got you- Under my skin
You want me, You've fallen for me, You're crazy over me
You can't escape I got you- Under my skin
You want me, You've fallen for me, You're crazy over me
You're my slave, I got you under my skin

What do you think?

Like WTH.
The song is not some sex song.
and plus, nowadays young generations are much more open minded and they know almost everything.
why should they ban it? its no use of banning it when theres millions of fans listening to it.
its too latee. =D

Yeah. It's a big hit in Seoul.
Since It was a popular boyband. But big bang's song contains some rated words too (Hey, I have nothing against them since I'm a big fan of big bang too)
Glad it's okay now

The edited version of mirotic makes me laugh. Like, seriously? Was that necessary?
They didn't really even change any of that parts that were bad.
They changed like the two LEAST sexual parts of the song. lol.

and now,
they have to sing
'under my sky'
instead of
'under my skin'
aww it sucks
I love 'under the skin'
I have always thought it to be the best part of the song
I mean, it can really bring out that 'feel' of being under a spell
getting someone under the skin is the PERFECT description for it
and now
they DESTROYED it
=.=
and now
i have this trouble of singing the wrong lyrics ALWAYS
LOL

Re: Uproar in Korea - Mirotic lyrics contains sexual content
LOL. I THINK TVXQ JUST MADE THE QUICK "UNDER MY SKY" VERSION TO SHRUG THE STUPID YOUTH CRAP OFF. THEY REALLY DIDN'T CHANGE ANYTHING. BESIDES, THEY'RE TOO 'BUSY' TO FIX THE ENTIRE SONG. BUT WHAT'S GOOD IS THAT THEY ADDED FOUR NEW SONGS TO THEIR NEW EDITION OF MIROTIC.
AND YEAH, IT'S TRUE THAT WE YOUNGSTERS HAVE ALREADY BEEN EXPOSED TO ALL THAT "STUFF". I MEAN, COME ON, JUST LOOK AT THE AMERICAN MUSIC (LYRICS). AND I KNOW THAT THEY GOT A BUNCH OF AMERICAN MUSIC IN KOREA TOO.
LOL, WHEN I FIRST LISTEN TO "UNDER MY SKY" I WAS ABOUT TO SING "UNDER MY SKIN" WHEN THE SAID SKY. I WAS LIKE, "-THE FUCK?!"
